6 Quick CV tips for the More Experienced Job Seeker

For the more experienced job seeker, it might seem absurd to be asked for a copy of your CV. You haven’t thought about having a CV in years, isn’t that what LinkedIn is for? Unfortunately it is often a formality that can’t be overlooked, but never fear, we have some top tips for you.
In general, if you have a lot of experience, you will come across better face-to-face than on a piece of paper/pdf, so keep it concise and to the point, 1 or 2 pages.
- Include a link to your LinkedIn profile (and make sure this is up to date) the recruiter or employer will likely look at this for more detailed information.
- After the obvious contact information, include a section listing some career highlights and achievements as an introduction to your experience.
- After this, most to least recent roles, detailing duties of the most relevant roles and simply listing the rest, work on a 10-15 year span, anything before that does not need to be included.
- High school and University only needs to be listed, dates and achievements do not need to be included.
- Unless asked to, you do not need to attach copies of your ID or qualifications.
- Last point – less is more!
